The short answer: one free week of Forever for a friend

An Invite-A-Friend Launch Code lets a friend play WoW Forever for free during launch week.

Blizzard's U.S. dates for that week are November 4 through November 11, 2026 (PST).

During that window the invited friend needs no subscription or game time.

The code does not unlock the Skyborne race, the beta or any other version of WoW.

It works only on an account that has not bought any Forever upgrade.

Buyers receive their codes by email from October 20, 2026 (PST).

Blizzard's support article sets November 11, 2026 as the last day to redeem.

A code redeemed on the wrong account cannot be moved or replaced.

This page sums up Blizzard's pre-purchase news, shop pages and support article.

It is based on official material, not on redeeming a code ourselves.

Who can redeem a code

The code is meant for the friend you invite, not for the person who bought it.

Blizzard's support article sets two account rules.

A code can be redeemed on a single World of Warcraft account only.

It cannot be redeemed on an account that bought any Forever upgrade.

AccountCan it redeem a code?
WoW account without any Forever upgradeYesone account per code
Account that bought any Forever upgradeNo
The buyer's own accountNoit bought an upgrade

From Blizzard's support article on these codes.

So a friend who already pre-purchased the Skyborne Heroic Pack cannot use your code.

The same rule rules out your own account once you have bought a pack.

Blizzard calls the people who can use a code eligible invitees.

Its fine print adds that other restrictions apply, without listing them.

Codes are redeemed through Battle.net, so your friend needs a Battle.net account.

The support article does not say whether a code works in another region.

Blizzard's general code guide says some codes are locked to one region.

If your friend plays in a different region from you, treat that as unconfirmed.

The same guide says a code can be redeemed only once.

What the code unlocks, and what it does not

The account that redeems a code can play WoW Forever free in the first week after launch.

Blizzard's pre-purchase news says this works without a subscription or game time.

The code does not unlock the Skyborne race or its Zephras Isle starting quests.

On the shop pages, the race needs the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition.

The code is not game time, so it adds no days to a subscription.

It does not open any other version of World of Warcraft.

It gives no access to the WoW Forever beta, which ends on October 21, 2026 (PST).

Despite the similar name, this is a one-off launch offer, not Recruit-A-Friend.

The support article mentions no rewards for the person who sends a code.

In our October 5 data, a U.S. Blizzard forum thread asked what the codes include.

It had no replies and 21 views when we collected it.

Dates by region: when codes arrive and when access runs

Blizzard gives dates, not start or end times, for the launch-week window.

Each region's pages use their own dates, so check the row for your region.

The U.S. news post says codes arrive from October 20, 2026 (PST).

Invited friends can play from November 4 through November 11, 2026 (PST).

Launch itself is on November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST.

The European shop page in English gives October 20 and November 4–11.

The German news post uses the same dates in PST.

The German shop page says November 5–11 instead, with no time zone.

3:00 p.m. PST on November 4 is already November 5 in central Europe (our conversion).

Korean pages give October 21 and November 5–12, both in Korea time.

Last day to redeem in every region, per the support article: November 11, 2026 (no time zone given).

The support article names November 11, 2026 as the last day to redeem, with no time zone.

After that date, Blizzard says, trying to redeem a code returns an error.

The same article says access from codes ends on November 11, 2026.

To be safe, redeem well before November 11 in your own time zone (our advice).

How to redeem a code

The buyer copies the code from the email and sends it straight to the friend.

The friend then adds it to their Blizzard account in one of three places.

On the Battle.net website, log in to Account Overview and use the Redeem a Code box.

In the Battle.net desktop app, click your profile icon at the top right, then Redeem Code.

In the Battle.net mobile app, tap your BattleTag, then choose Redeem Code.

Check which account you are logged in to before you confirm.

Blizzard Customer Support cannot help with a code claimed on the wrong account.

You can redeem it until November 11, 2026; the support article gives no time zone.

Redeeming early is safer (our advice), and play starts at launch on November 4.

Play on the World of Warcraft account that redeemed the code.

Redeeming a launch code

  1. Get the code from your friendthe buyer forwards it from their email
  2. Log in to the right accountone without any Forever upgrade
  3. Open Redeem Codewebsite, desktop app or mobile app
  4. Enter the codeby November 11, 2026 (no time zone given)
  5. Play from launchNovember 4, 2026 (PST)

For buyers: how many codes you get and how they arrive

The Skyborne Heroic Pack comes with 1 code.

The Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection come with 3 codes in total.

Upgrading from Heroic to Epic or to the Collection adds 2 codes, for 3 in total.

Upgrading from Epic to the Collection adds no codes.

Gift purchases do not receive codes.

The Collector's Edition from the Blizzard Gear Store also includes 3 codes.

With the Epic Pack or Collection plus that Collector's Edition, you hold 6 codes.

For the Heroic Pack plus that edition, the support article gives no clear total.

It says any digital upgrade, yet counts 3 codes from the digital purchase.

Collector's Editions from local shops in Korea, Australia and New Zealand include none.

Battle.net Shop codes go to your registered Battle.net email from October 20, 2026.

Each code comes in its own email, so the Epic Pack means 3 separate emails.

If you buy after October 20, the codes arrive shortly after purchase.

Failed orders receive no codes.

For a Gear Store Collector's Edition, Legends emails the codes with the beta access code.

They go to the email address used for that purchase.

Problems: what Blizzard Support can and cannot fix

No email yet? Codes from Battle.net purchases go out from October 20.

Check your junk or spam folder first.

Then check that the upgrade order shows Complete in your Battle.net transaction history.

If a code stops giving access, remember that code access ends on November 11, 2026.

The buyer should also check that the upgrade order still shows Complete.

If the buyer's order is refunded or charged back, its codes are deactivated.

So a buyer's refund can end a friend's access (our reading).

In each case, Blizzard points out that a WoW subscription includes WoW Forever.

After launch week, and what Blizzard has not said

After the launch-week window, playing WoW Forever needs a subscription or game time.

Blizzard says a WoW subscription or game time already includes WoW Forever.

To play a Skyborne character, your friend needs the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher.

As of October 5, 2026, Blizzard has not said the following.

It gives no time of day for the start or end of the launch-week window.

It does not say whether codes work across regions.

It does not list the other restrictions its fine print mentions.

It does not say what happens if a redeemed account later buys an upgrade.
