The short answer: five addons, two ways of speaking

We found five quest voiceover addons on CurseForge with files for the Forever beta.

They are Forever Voiceover, SpeakStone, Spoken Quests, VoiceOver Forever and Forever TTS.

Each has a file for game version 1.60.1, but this is not a complete list of every addon.

None of them comes from Blizzard; SpeakStone calls its audio unofficial.

Forever Voiceover says its voices are generated by players, not by Blizzard.

Three of them play pre-recorded voices from voice packs you download separately.

Forever TTS reads the text live with WoW's built-in text-to-speech, so it needs no packs.

VoiceOver Forever installs only a player; we found no Forever voice pack for it.

The table lists each addon's latest Forever file; dates are CurseForge uploads in UTC.

Forever Voiceover is v0.1.5 from September 25, and SpeakStone is v2.0.0 from September 27.

Spoken Quests is 2.1.2 and VoiceOver Forever is 2.1.3, both from September 26.

Forever TTS is 1.0.0-beta.1 from September 17.

CurseForge files for game version 1.60.1, upload dates in UTC, checked on September 28, 2026.

Our take: with disk space to spare, pick one of the three addons that have voice packs.

For a tiny addon with no packs on Windows, try Forever TTS.

We checked CurseForge files, descriptions and code on September 28, 2026.

We did not test the addons in the game.

A September 27 r/classicwow thread asked Blizzard for official voiceover in Forever.

In our September 28 data it had 3 upvotes and 9 comments.

Pre-recorded voice packs versus live text-to-speech

Quest and gossip text is not in the game files; the server sends it.

That is how Forever Voiceover's page explains it.

So a pack can only voice lines that someone has captured and turned into audio.

A line that no pack has stays silent.

Forever Voiceover prints a chat reminder for each unvoiced quest or NPC.

To fill gaps, three of the addons record or collect unvoiced text as you play.

Forever Voiceover and Spoken Quests say on their pages that your name is removed.

SpeakStone's code swaps your name for a placeholder but keeps your class and race.

Sharing is manual, through an export command, a link or a website upload.

Live text-to-speech can also read lines that no pack has voiced yet.

Forever TTS reads quest and gossip text as the game shows it.

But it targets beta build 69893 on Windows and needs an installed Windows voice.

The trade-off is the voice: packs give NPCs matching voices.

Text-to-speech uses the one system voice you pick.

Forever Voiceover: the player plus three voice packs

Forever Voiceover reads quest offers, turn-ins, greetings and gossip aloud.

A talking-head frame shows the speaker, and the quest log gets play buttons.

Its voices are made with the Chatterbox model to fit each NPC's race and gender.

The player alone says nothing; its README lists three voice packs that stack.

Data: Base holds Classic quests up to level 40 and all Classic gossip.

Its latest file, 2026.09.25, is 794 MB.

Data: Base Endgame holds Classic quests from level 41 up.

Its file, 2026.09.24, is 574 MB.

Base is split in two because CurseForge caps a file at 1 GB, the README says.

Data: Forever holds what Forever adds or rewrites and is updated often.

Its 2026.09.27 file is 111 MB.

Installing Forever Voiceover

  1. Download the playerForever Voiceover v0.1.5
  2. Download the packsData: Base, Data: Base Endgame, Data: Forever
  3. Unzip into AddOnsall folders, unchanged
  4. Restart and check/fvo status

Type /fvo for the options.

/fvo pause, /fvo resume, /fvo skip and /fvo clear control playback.

/fvo status lists the loaded packs.

In version 0.1.5 the defaults read quest offers and turn-ins, not progress text.

By default it also mutes the game's own dialogue channel while it speaks.

SpeakStone Forever: Main plus two audio packs

SpeakStone Forever Main is code only.

The voices come from Forever Audio Pack 1 and Audio Pack 2.

It voices quests, NPC greetings and gossip, and books, letters and plaques.

Each voice is cloned from that NPC's own in-game dialogue, the project says.

Audio Pack 1 (v1.6.2) is 456 MB, and Audio Pack 2 (v1.6.2) is 440 MB.

Both packs were uploaded on September 24.

Together they hold about 13,400 clips, roughly 59 hours of audio.

Main v2.0.0 came out on September 27 with a first-start tutorial.

The Main page still describes an older four-part set of about 1.4 GB.

The pack pages and the author's GitHub now use two packs.

Do not add the retail SpeakStone addons; the Forever set is separate.

Installing SpeakStone Forever

  1. Download MainSpeakStone Forever Main v2.0.0
  2. Download both packsAudio Pack 1 and Audio Pack 2
  3. Unzip into AddOnsno retail SpeakStone packs
  4. Restart and open settings/ss

Type /ss for settings and /ssauto off to stop automatic playback.

/qrlibrary opens the audio library.

By default it plays on the master channel and mutes the game's dialogue channel.

Spoken Quests: Classic voices, played through Spoken Player

Spoken Quests, formerly VoiceOver Redux, reads quest and gossip text aloud.

It holds no audio and plays through a separate addon, Spoken Player.

Spoken Quests 2.1.2 and Spoken Player 2.2.2 were both uploaded on September 26.

The project matches voices to each kind of NPC, not just race and gender.

Its audio packs, version 2.0.0 from September 18, are also marked for 1.60.1.

Alliance players need Alliance (325 MB) and Shared (297 MB), about 623 MB.

Horde players need Horde (322 MB) and Shared (297 MB), about 619 MB.

Both totals are our sums.

Gossip (293 MB) adds NPC chatter if you want it.

The All package only pulls in the four packs, so skip it when downloading by hand.

Installing Spoken Quests

  1. Download the addonSpoken Quests 2.1.2
  2. Download the playerSpoken Player 2.2.2
  3. Download the packsyour faction plus Shared, Gossip optional
  4. Unzip, restart, set up/spoken options

The author says the addon works with Forever, but the packs still miss new quests.

The voices come from a 1.12 world database, so quests written later have none.

Where a line has no voice, a Contribute button lets you send its text for voicing.

Type /spoken to pause or resume, /spoken skip to skip, /spoken stop to clear.

/spoken options opens the settings.

VoiceOver Forever: a player still waiting for Forever packs

VoiceOver Forever is a Forever build of the AI VoiceOver player.

Version 2.1.3 was uploaded on September 26.

Its page says it includes only the player; voice packs are downloaded separately.

The pack list inside version 2.1.3 names packs for other versions of WoW.

One of them is Vanilla (deDE), a German pack.

That pack has files only for Classic game versions, not for Forever 1.60.1.

The author aims to voice 11 languages, including German and Korean.

That is a goal, not a download.

It has a minimap button and an options panel.

By default it mutes NPC greetings while it plays.

Our take: wait for a pack marked for Forever before you install it.

Forever TTS: live narration with no downloads

Forever TTS reads quest text and NPC gossip with WoW's built-in text-to-speech.

It needs no voice packs, API keys, subscriptions or companion apps.

Its only file is 263 KB, or 0.26 MB.

Type /ftts test to hear a sample.

/ftts options lets you choose a voice, speed and volume.

/ftts pause, /ftts play, /ftts skip and /ftts clear control the queue.

/ftts read reads the quest selected in your quest log.

Version 1.0.0-beta.1 targets Forever beta 1.60.1, build 69893, on Windows.

macOS is not supported, its page says.

Blizzard has shipped newer beta clients since, such as build 69977.

That build came in the September 22 update; Forever TTS has had no new file.

If no voices appear, check the game's text-to-speech settings.

The author also says to check the speech voices installed in Windows.

Forever TTS also answers to /fvo, the same command as Forever Voiceover.

Install only one of the two.

Disk space: from 0.26 MB to about 1.5 GB

We took each file's size in bytes from CurseForge and counted 1 MB as a million bytes.

CurseForge's own pages may show smaller numbers because they count differently.

Forever Voiceover's three packs add up to about 1480 MB: 794 + 574 + 111 MB.

SpeakStone's two packs add up to about 896 MB: 456 + 440 MB.

Spoken Quests needs about 623 MB for Alliance or 619 MB for Horde.

Those three totals are our sums of the exact byte sizes.

The VoiceOver Forever player is about 18 MB, mostly images.

Forever TTS is 0.26 MB.

Install, mute and switch off

On CurseForge, open each project's Files tab.

Pick the file listed for game version 1.60.1 (Forever).

In the beta, unzip every folder into this folder:

World of Warcraft\_classic_beta_\Interface\AddOns

Blizzard has not announced the AddOns folder for the launch client.

Restart the game after adding voice packs.

Forever Voiceover's README says new sound files are only picked up at launch.

Use only one voiceover addon at a time.

Forever Voiceover, SpeakStone and VoiceOver Forever mute NPC dialogue by default.

They do it while they speak, so Blizzard's own NPC greetings go quiet.

To silence narration for a while, use the pause commands below.

To remove an addon, turn it off in the AddOns list or delete its folders.

German and Korean clients: what is confirmed

As of September 28, 2026, none of the five offers a German or Korean Forever pack.

Forever Voiceover's pages mention no language other than the captured text.

SpeakStone's list of voiced lines is marked enUS (US English) in its code.

Spoken Quests has a voice-language setting for 10 client languages.

Its code treats every pack published so far as English.

By default it falls back to English when your language has no clip.

VoiceOver Forever's author plans German and Korean among 11 languages.

When we checked, it had no Forever pack in any language.

Forever TTS reads the text your client shows, in the Windows voice you pick.

Its author lists no supported languages.

We have not heard it on a German or Korean client.

Korean players have a community-made option outside CurseForge, covered next.

A Korean community pack: WoWQuestVoice

On September 27, 2026 a player shared WoWQuestVoice on Inven's WoW Forever board.

It is an addon that reads quests aloud for the Korean client.

The author says it covers quests from level 1 to 23 only.

Newly added quests may not be supported.

It is about 300 MB now and may grow to 600–700 MB.

So the author shares it through a personal Google Drive link, not CurseForge.

The post gives the beta AddOns folder as the install location.

The in-game options command is /wqv.

Version 1.1 on September 28 keeps playback going when you Alt-Tab, the post says.

We did not download or check the file.

Our sources link to the author's post, not to the file.
