The short answer: training includes the mount, and no flying mounts
In WoW Forever you do not pay a separate up-front price for your first mount.
Blizzard moved that up-front mount cost into riding training.
When you learn the riding skill, you are given a mount.
There are no flying mounts anywhere in Forever.
The Cerulean Prideclaw from the Skyborne packs does not skip training either.
For the Cerulean Prideclaw, Blizzard says the riding skill must be bought in game.
This page collects what Blizzard has written about mounts and travel.
It is a summary of official posts, not a hands-on test.
Levels, gold costs and speeds are not announced, so we do not list any.
How riding works: the mount comes with training
Blizzard explained the mount system in its Deep Dive panel recap.
Forever adopts the Burning Crusade-style mount-cost approach.
The up-front mount cost shifts into training.
Players are granted a mount when they learn the riding skill.

| Mount speed | Not announced |
| Which mount you receive | Not announced |
From Blizzard's Deep Dive panel recap (English, German and Korean pages say the same).
In short, the mount's price is part of the cost of riding training.
The recap does not say at which level you can train.
It also does not give the training price or the mount's speed.
It does not say which mount each race receives or whether you can pick one.
We found no Blizzard post that fills in these details as of October 5, 2026.
No flying mounts: every mount stays on the ground
Blizzard's What's Next panel recap is direct about it: no flying mounts.
The same sentence also rules out level scaling.
Blizzard lists both as part of a focus on challenge, preparation and cooperation.
So every mount you get in Forever is a ground mount.
Long trips rely on your ground mount, flight paths and ships.
Flight paths are still part of travel.
The Legacy perk Frequent Flier reduces the cost of flights and speeds them up.
The new ship routes are covered further down this page.
The Prideclaw pack mount still needs the riding skill
The Skyborne packs on the Battle.net Shop include cosmetic ground mounts.
Blizzard's pre-purchase post lists the Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount.
Next to it, Blizzard adds a note: you must buy the riding skill in game.
Only then can you access and use the mount.

We checked the U.S. and European English pages of that post.
We also checked the German and Korean pages.
All four carry the same riding-skill note for the Prideclaw.
| Blizzard page | Mount | Riding-skill note |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. English | Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount | Must purchase the riding skill in game |
| European English | Cerulean Prideclaw ground mount | Same wording |
| German | Bodenreittier Himmelblaue Stolzklaue | Reitfähigkeit im Spiel erwerben |
| Korean | 청록빛 무리발톱 지상 탈것 | 탈것 타기 기술 구매 필요 |
Pre-purchase post, Skyborne Heroic Pack list, as shown on each regional page.
So the Prideclaw is a different look, not a way to ride earlier.
That last point is our reading of the note, not a separate Blizzard statement.
Which edition includes which mount
Blizzard's Forever page compares the three upgrade editions.
Two ground mounts appear in that comparison.
The Cerulean Prideclaw Ground Mount is in all three editions.
The Veteran Adventurer's Loyal Companion Ground Mount is in the Epic Pack and Collection.

| Loyal Companion Ground Mount | — | ✓ | ✓ |
Edition comparison on Blizzard's World of Warcraft: Forever page.
Both are marked as usable in modern WoW and in WoW Forever.
The page adds that included items are not available in WoW Classic.
The riding-skill note in the pre-purchase post is attached to the Prideclaw only.
Blizzard does not repeat it for the Loyal Companion.
It is a ground mount too, so expect the same rule; that is our reading.
The Legacy mount: Reins of the Spectral Bear
The Legacy System also has a mount among its account rewards.
Blizzard calls Reins of the Spectral Bear a new spectral mount exclusive to Legacy.
Legacy rewards come from points you collect over time on the Legacy Reward Track.
Blizzard says these rewards give no competitive gameplay advantage.
In Blizzard's beta screenshot of the track, the reins sit at 55 points.

That number comes from a beta screen, not from the article text, and may change.
The Legacy System has 65 challenges in total, worth one point each.
Blizzard has not said whether this mount also needs the riding skill.
Forsaken paladin epic mount quest at level 60
Blizzard's Found Photos panel recap mentions one class mount quest by name.
At level 60, Forsaken paladins embark on their own epic mount quest.
Alliance paladins claim their epic charger in the name of Redemption.
Blizzard does not say at what level, or through which quest, they get it in Forever.
Paladins of the Forsaken ride in the name of Retribution.
Undead paladins are one of six new class and race combinations in Forever.
Blizzard placed a screenshot of an armored skeletal horse below this paragraph.
We use it as this page's header image, but Blizzard does not name the mount.
Quest steps, costs and rewards beyond the mount have not been published.
New ship routes: what Blizzard actually said
Without flying mounts, ships matter for crossing between continents.
Blizzard's Found Photos recap describes three new ship routes.
Stormwind Harbor to Auberdine opens an early path to Kalimdor.
Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine add another route with more flexibility for leveling.
Blizzard does not say which of those three ports connect directly, or in what order.
| Route | What Blizzard said |
|---|---|
| Stormwind Harbor – Auberdine | An early path between the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor |
| Menethil, Southshore and Auberdine | Another route with more flexibility for levelingdirect links not stated |
| Tanaris (Steamwheedle Cartel) – Powderfuse Port | Leads to the Riverglades |
From the New Ways to Travel part of Blizzard's Found Photos recap.
The final route starts with the Steamwheedle Cartel in Tanaris.
It leads to Powderfuse Port in the Riverglades.
Schedules and faction limits for these ships have not been published.
Not announced yet and what to do before launch
As of October 5, 2026, Blizzard has not published the following.
The level at which you can learn riding is not announced.
The gold cost of riding training is not announced.
Mount speeds, and whether there is a faster riding tier, are not announced.
Which mount each race receives is not announced either.
Blizzard has not said whether the Loyal Companion needs the riding skill too.
Plan trips around your ground mount, flight paths and ships.
Keep some gold for riding training, since the cost now includes the mount (our advice).
If you bought a Skyborne pack, its Prideclaw still waits for the riding skill.
Forsaken paladins who reach level 60 can look for their epic mount quest.
