Blizzard has not published a Paladin class deep dive for WoW Forever yet.
We checked the official news list on October 12, 2026.
Deep dives so far cover Hunter, Druid, Priest, Warrior, Mage, Shaman, Rogue and Warlock.
Paladin players have asked about it on the official forums too.
This page collects every official Paladin detail published so far.
The main source is the Deep Dive panel recap of September 13, 2026.
It has a full section called “A Closer Look at Paladins”.
We add the Found Photos recap and the beta notes up to October 8.
We will update this page when Blizzard publishes a Paladin deep dive.
This is a summary of official texts; we have not tested the beta ourselves.
Every Paladin learns Holy Strike at level 6, an instant Holy weapon strike.
Casting Judgement no longer consumes your Seal.
Protection gets Seal of Fury, a tank Seal that makes Judgement taunt.
Consecration is a baseline spell at level 20.
Undead (Forsaken) Paladins get their own story and an epic mount quest at level 60.
Blizzard wants Paladins to work as tanks, healers or Retribution melee.
It also keeps the class's limits on purpose.
Paladins still lack an interrupt.
They still cannot slow targets the way some other classes can.
They still taunt through the Seal and Judgement system, not one button.
They stay especially strong against Undead and Demons.
Blizzard's examples are Exorcism, Holy Wrath and Turn Undead.
Against other enemies they have fewer ranged options.
Humans and Dwarves can be Paladins on the Alliance.
On the Horde, only Undead can, and that pairing is new in Forever.
Talents open at level 10; you change them at a class trainer in a major city.
Dual Specialization becomes available at level 40.
Blizzard says class abilities and talents may keep changing during the beta.
What changes in Forever
These are the class-wide Paladin changes Blizzard has described.
Holy Strike is new, and every Paladin learns it at level 6.
It is an instant weapon strike that deals Holy damage.
The September 13 recap gave it a 12 second cooldown.
The September 24 beta notes lower that to 10 seconds.
That line sits under Holy, next to the removal of Improved Holy Strike.
Blizzard says that talent felt required, so its behavior became baseline.
Seals are no longer consumed when you cast Judgement.
Blizzard says this cuts the busy work of recasting them.
Seal of Fury is a tank Seal for Protection Paladins.
It favors fast weapons and grants small absorb shields.
While Seal of Fury is active, Judgement taunts.
Consecration is baseline at level 20, for tanking and for damage.
It deals high damage and threat to the first four targets it hits.
Targets beyond the first four take less damage and threat.
| Change | What Blizzard says |
|---|---|
| Holy Strike | New at level 6; instant Holy weapon strike; 12 sec cooldown in the recap, 10 sec since September 24 |
| Seals and Judgement | Judgement no longer consumes the Seal |
| Seal of FuryProtection | Tank Seal: favors fast weapons, small absorb shields, Judgement taunts |
| Consecration | Baseline at level 20; high damage and threat on the first four targets |
| Blessing of Kings | Baseline (was a talent) |
| Righteous Fury | Holy threat increase 60% (was 90%) |
| Retribution Aura | Paladin's spell power; base damage about 33% lower; ratio 6% (was 13.3%) |
Class-wide Paladin changes in Blizzard's recap and beta notes. Beta values may change.
Blessings: Blessing of Kings used to come from a talent.
Blizzard has made it a baseline Paladin spell.
Blizzard has not published Blessing durations or new Blessing values.
Our buff durations guide compares beta tooltip data instead.
Blizzard did lower the Attack Power bonus of the Warrior's Battle Shout.
Its reason: both factions now have both Shaman and Paladin buffs.
The Legacy perk Reagent Economy can remove reagent needs from class abilities.
Blizzard presents that as a way to make buffing easier.
Righteous Fury's Holy threat increase is 60% in the September 24 notes.
It was 90%; the note says “increased”, but the new value is lower.
Retribution Aura changed in three beta notes.
September 24: it should update with the caster's spell power.
October 1: a known issue made it use the target's spell power.
October 8: Blizzard fixed that issue.
Its base damage went back to Vanilla WoW values, about a 33% reduction.
Its spell power ratio fell to 6% (was 13.3%).
Consecration got several fixes on September 24.
It sometimes failed to apply its increased damage effect to targets.
It could also pull targets from above or below the caster.
The same notes fixed Echo of Justice activating more often than intended.
They also fixed the Flash of Light cast animation.
| Beta notes | Paladin item |
|---|---|
| September 24 | Retribution Aura should follow the caster's spell power |
| September 24 | Consecration fixes; Echo of Justice and Flash of Light fixes |
| September 24 | Holy Strike ranks rebalanced; cooldown 10 sec; Improved Holy Strike removed |
| September 24 | Righteous Fury Holy threat 60% (was 90%) |
| September 24 | Holy and Retribution talent changes (see Talents) |
| October 1 | Protection and Retribution talent changes (see Talents) |
| October 1 | Known issue: Retribution Aura used the target's spell power |
| October 8 | Retribution Aura fixed; base damage about 33% lower; ratio 6% |
| October 8 | Protection changes: Reckoning and Seal of Fury (see Talents) |
Every Paladin entry in Blizzard's beta development notes up to October 8 (U.S. dates).
Talent changes from the same notes are listed in the Talents section.
Talents
Forever keeps the Classic tree shape and the same number of rows.
Milestone talents stay at 11, 21 and 31 points.
A new milestone sits at 16 points.
Some talents stay as in patch 1.12; others are adjusted or new.
Blizzard has not shown the full Paladin trees or each talent's row.
The recap names the new and changed talents below.
We give Blizzard's description, then later beta-note changes.
Holy aims for more varied healing and some damage-focused play.
Improved Holy Strike cut Holy Strike's cooldown; it left the tree on September 24.
Voice of Truth grants temporary immunity to Silence and Interrupts.
Reverence lets you regenerate Mana from Spirit while casting.
Infusion of Light: critical heals from Holy Shock or Flash of Light shorten Holy Light.
Blizzard wants healers to mix spells rather than repeat one cast.
Holy Shock moves to a 10 second cooldown.
Consecrated Ground makes enemies in Consecration take more Holy damage.
Light's Vigil is a high-cost cooldown that can reset Holy Shock.
It then adds damage against enemies or heals the party through an ally.
September 24: only Light's Vigil's damage version returns some Mana.
September 24: Holy Power also adds 15% critical strike chance to Holy Strike.
| Holy talent | What it does (Blizzard) |
|---|---|
| Improved Holy Strike | Cut Holy Strike's cooldown; removed September 24, now baseline |
| Voice of Truth | Temporary immunity to Silence and Interrupts |

| Light's Vigil | Resets Holy Shock; extra damage or party healing through an ally |
| Holy Power | Also +15% crit chance for Holy Strike (September 24) |
Protection gets Mana sustain, ways to recover a missed taunt and survival tools.
Improved Seal of Fury grants Mana when Seal of Fury absorbs damage.
Shield Specialization grants extra Mana when you block.
Swift Judgement can reset Judgement once per minute.
Templar's Bulwark is a strong absorb shield based on maximum health.
It interacts with Forbearance.
Reckoning now also triggers from blocks.
That way it works for tanks who are immune to critical hits.
Iron Creed: well-timed Holy Strikes cut damage taken for a short window.
October 1: Redoubt's block chance is 4/8/12/16/20% (was 6/12/18/24/30%).
October 1: Holy Shield's block chance is 30% (was 20%).
October 8: Reckoning can trigger at most once every 1.5 seconds.
October 8: Seal of Fury no longer gives Mana without Improved Seal of Fury.

| Templar's Bulwark | Absorb shield based on maximum health; interacts with Forbearance |
| Reckoning | Also triggers from blocks; at most once every 1.5 sec (October 8) |

| Redoubt | Block chance 4/8/12/16/20% (October 1) |
| Holy Shield | Block chance 30%, was 20% (October 1) |
Retribution gets a stronger melee identity with room for Holy damage.
Vindication now lowers the enemy's Attack Power and raises yours.
Sacred Arbiter empowers Holy Strike and refreshes Judgements on the target.
September 24: its Holy Strike damage bonus rose to 20% (was 10%).
Champion of the Light raises spell damage based on Intellect.
October 1: it converts 20/40/60% of Intellect (was 33/66/100%).
Its tooltip said it raised healing; Blizzard says it never did.
Instrument of the Law lowers your threat and makes Holy Wrath instant.
Twist of Light echoes a new Seal into your next melee swing.
Blizzard says that supports Seal Twisting without a swing timer addon.
September 24: it also cuts the Mana cost of your Seals by 20%.
September 24: Vengeance triggers from non-periodic critical strikes.
Vengeance now stacks to 3 (was 5).
Two-Handed Weapon Specialization now adds 2/4/6% damage (was 3/6/9%).
Prefer range? Blizzard says you can lean into Holy Shock instead.

Leveling
Holy Strike arrives at level 6 as an instant Holy damage weapon strike.
On September 24 Blizzard rebalanced its damage per rank.
The notes say early ranks did not always feel like an upgrade.
Blizzard says the change raises its damage while leveling and its share of your rotation.
Ranks 1–8 used to deal 25%, 25%, 30%, 30%, 35%, 35%, 40% and 40% of weapon damage.
Now they deal 25%, 29%, 32%, 36%, 39%, 43%, 46% and 50%.
| Holy Strike ranks 1–8 | % of weapon damage |
|---|---|
| Before September 24 | 25 · 25 · 30 · 30 · 35 · 35 · 40 · 40 |
| Since September 24 | 25 · 29 · 32 · 36 · 39 · 43 · 46 · 50 |
From the September 24 beta development notes.
The notes do not say at which levels each rank is learned.
Talents start at level 10.
Consecration joins at level 20 as a baseline spell.
It handles groups: full damage and threat on the first four targets.
Dual Specialization opens at level 40.
Blizzard calls Paladins especially strong against Undead and Demons.
For Undead Paladins, Cannibalize now restores Mana as well as Health.
Blizzard names Paladins among the Mana users this helps.
Forsaken Paladins have a story of their own.
It follows the new Warcraft III campaign Forsaken Kingdom.
These former paladins are mistrusted by other Forsaken.
They are still learning what it means to channel the Light in undeath.
Bandarion Keep, in the Whispering Wood of Tirisfal Glades, is its key location.
Blizzard calls this the Forsaken Paladin Journey.
At level 60, Forsaken Paladins get their own epic mount quest.
Blizzard: Alliance Paladins claim their charger “in the name of Redemption”.
Forsaken Paladins ride “in the name of Retribution”.
The quest name, steps, costs and mount details have not been published.

Stat priority
Blizzard has not published a stat priority for any Paladin specialization.
The sources do say which stats several Paladin tools use.
We list those instead of guessing a ranking.
Spell, melee and ranged hit chance are now one stat, and so is crit chance.
Blizzard names Retribution Paladins as a hybrid this helps.
Intellect: Champion of the Light turns 20/40/60% of it into spell damage.
Spirit: Reverence keeps Spirit-based Mana regeneration going while you cast.
Spell power: Retribution Aura uses 6% of the Paladin's spell power.
Bonus healing now also gives one third as much bonus damage.
Block: Redoubt, Holy Shield, Shield Specialization and Reckoning use it.
Critical strikes trigger Infusion of Light and Vengeance.
We will add a priority only when Blizzard publishes one.
| Stat | Paladin tools that use it | Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Hit and crit chance | Retribution (Blizzard's hybrid example) | Not published |
| Intellect | Champion of the Light (20/40/60%) | Not published |
| Spirit | Reverence | Not published |
| Spell power | Retribution Aura (6%) | Not published |
| Block | Redoubt, Holy Shield, Shield Specialization, Reckoning | Not published |
Gear
Blizzard's Paladin class page lists plate armor and shields.
That page describes today's World of Warcraft, not Forever specifically.
In Forever's transmog rules, plate only transmogs to plate.
Blizzard's example is a Paladin wearing a cloth chest.
That Paladin needs another cloth chest appearance for that item.
Spellcaster weapons now grant spell damage and healing.
Blizzard says casters can now look forward to level-up weapons too.
Seal of Fury favors fast weapons, according to the recap.
Two-Handed Weapon Specialization now adds 2/4/6% damage.
Items with weapon skill now give less of it per item.
Blizzard has not published Paladin gear lists, so we name no best-in-slot items.
Recommended professions
Blizzard does not recommend professions for Paladins.
The recap and beta notes list no Paladin-specific profession changes.
Campfires let nearby players add profession objects with buffs.
Blacksmiths can place a Sharpening Wheel that increases Attack Power.
Tailors can place a Faction Banner that increases Spirit.
Herbalists can place an Incense Candle that increases Intellect.
Blizzard says these are variants of class buffs and do not stack with them.
Blizzard does not say which class buff each object overlaps.
We make no Paladin-specific profession pick.
Addons and macros
Twist of Light is Blizzard's answer to swing-timer addons.
It echoes a new Seal into your next melee swing for Seal Twisting.
On gamepads, Paladins got an Aura flyout on the action bar.
That came with the September 24 beta build.
The built-in Cooldown Manager did not list Paladins on September 24.
The October 8 notes say all classes are now supported.
Our macros guide has starter Paladin macros and Blizzard's macro rules.
The following numbers come from our daily data collected on October 12, 2026.
